Anyone know who is attending the Irlene celebrity shoot this year? I need to put in for some vacation time real soon, but don't want to commit until I know who will be there. Have had a lot of fun at the past shoots but getting info this year seems to be a problem

The Irby Mandrell Memorial shoot in 7 springs will have Barbara, Irlene, & Louise for sure. Leslie E. is also confirmed. More info can be found on irlenemandrellshoot.com

Shel, I appreciate the reply but the the web site does not say which celebrities are attending this year. People go to this for two reasons A) to support the charities and B) To be able to shoot and rub elbows with the celebrities. The Mandrel Sisters are great and I love them to death. And Leslie is wonderful .But there are just not enough celebrities to go around and give everyone a chance to spend some time with them.

I am not really "into" these shoots and they are too expensive for me so it is a good thing that I am not. But, I think the real key to the shoots is trying to raise money for charity. And, I guess celebrities are invited to participate because they "bring in: more people to the event.
I think it is pretty strange that the shoot web site does not have a list of celebrities participating in the shoot this year. It is only roughly a month a way. But, then I got to thinking. It the as this event has been the Irlene Mandrell Celebrity Shoot. This year, is the word "celebrity" even in the event title. Is this the Irby Mandrell Memorial Shoot. Or is this the Irby Mandrell Memorial Celebrity Shoot. Perhaps this is not even an event this year that is going to feature celebrity participation. With no list of celebrities attending on the web site, I would think this is something to think about.

Yes, this year the shoot is the Irby Mandrell Memorial Shoot. However, all celebrities that have been to previous ones have been re-invited as well. There will be celebrities there, and Jon Petz will be back again. Resort rooms are marked down when you use the link at the bottom right of irlenemandrellshoot.com . It's 129/night for ANY room, regular or family sized. Last years shoot was fun -- and I didn't even shoot in it! And the 7 springs resort has so much to do at it. |

I am sure attending the shoot is fun. I am not a stranger to these benefits. I did attend a few of the big Alabama Benefits that Barbara did. Work prevented me from going to more than I did. By the time I looked into attending a shoot that Louise had you had to be a shooter or a guest of a shooter in order to attend. You could attend the banquet if you paid the price of a shooter. Needless to say I did not go. I do not know if this was the case when she first started her shoot and attendance was pretty small but it was the case by the time I looked into going and the shoot was a pretty big one by then.
But, your mention of any room at 7 Springs for 129, well, that is far more than I am willing to pay for a room.
There were at least two years when Irlene held her shoot in Branson, MO. That is just a hope skip and a jump for me but I opted not to go. But, had I gone, I would not have stayed at the official hotel for the shoot. I would have opted for a much cheaper place elsewhere in town. I just do not believe in paying what I think of as high prices for things when it is not necessary. However, I have no problem with people who choose to pay the high prices. It is just something I will not do.
But, anyhow, I am sure attending the shoot is a fun thing to do whether one shoots or not. Just not for me.

Just saw some pictures from the shoot banquets. Mary Mandrell looks great. I am glad she was able to attend. I know she has often in the past. Also thought Barbara looks great. Love her in that off white color she wears some.

I guess Mary came with her friends the Bradys. Also looks her Barbara's good friend Pat was there. Well, I guess Pat and Glen are friends of Barbara and Ken.
It will be great if pictures get posted on the shoot site soon. I thought they usually waited several months before posting...something to do with whoever takes them selling them first.
I know three people who went so that is why I have some pictures. Two of them shot in the event and the other "just watched."

There are some shoot photos up on the 7 Springs Web Site. I do admit to being somewhat puzzled by them. There is a gallery for Friday and one for Saturday. In the Saturday gallery, a few of the photos do include Louise. I do not see any of Barbara for either day and I do not think any for Irlene are there. Also, a lot of the photos posted are pretty repetitive like several photos with the same people in them. Makes me wonder how many people were there that were not famiy and friends.
There are some photos that do include Irlene's girls. If Barbara's sons are in any, I missed them except for a couple that show Matt and Christy in ones Louise is in.
No banquet photos and just a wee few that are, I guess, inside the clubhouse or whatever it is called.
But, the ones of Louise are nice and I like her outfit.
